How to get here.

Cauldhame is nestled on the picturesque island of South Ronaldsay. Whether arriving via the nearby ferry or driving down from mainland Orkney, your island escape is easy to find.
Route One

From St Margaret’s Hope Ferry.

Arriving via Gills Bay to St Margaret’s Hope Ferry Terminal

1. Exit the ferry terminal and take the A961.

4. After travelling 1.5 miles, turn left at the small crossroads.

5. Cauldhame is the second property on your right.
Route Two

From Kirkwall.

Arriving from Kirkwall Airport or Mainland Orkney

1. Take the A961 heading south toward St Margaret’s Hope.

2. Cross mainland Orkney via the historic Churchill Barriers.

3. Immediately after coming off the fourth barrier, take the B9044 (the second road on your left).

4. Travel along the road for exactly two miles.

5. You will see Cauldhame clearly signposted on your left.

A quick travel hint.

Orkney’s vehicle ferries book up quickly during the peak spring and summer months. We highly recommend securing your vehicle crossing via Pentland Ferries (Gills Bay to St Margaret’s Hope) or NorthLink Ferries (Scrabster to Stromness) well in advance of your journey north.
